  • Untitled

    Here's a quick snippet if you're wondering how i'm doing and what i've been up to.

    Ever since coming back to Singapore for a 3 months sabbatical from Melbourne, i've embarked on a 3-months contract job with the government and have since been busy working, serving in home church care-group and spending time with my buddies with whom i haven't been able to spend time with, after being away for 4 years in Aussie Outback.

    I understand that my time away from Melbourne seemed like forever but this moulding period and test of resolve will soon pass by, with me eventually returning to Melbourne to embrace. Hang in there, i guess.(:(:

    And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts all blessing and favour], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen and settle you. 1 Peter 5:10

  • Sincere Apologies

    I extend my sincere apologies to you, knowing that i'm in the wrong and a tad insensitive in not honoring, for that day. My bad. Knew it the moment i spoke. Ever since, i've been constantly prompted and am inner convicted by dear Holy Spirit to admit this and i'm heeding his voice which never lies. I'm sorry. Smile (:(:

  • The Bronze Serpent that was and has been already Judged on the Cross

    If God is My Judge, Should I Judge People?

    1st Corinthians 4 Judgment Reveal Sin

    1 Corinthians 4:5. God is the ultimate judge of what is right or wrong. As His creatures our purpose is not to upsurge his authority by judging people. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 4:5, “Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the heart; and then shall every man have praise of God”. This scripture is telling us that we can have the sin condemned on Jesus' finished work on the cross, but do not condemn the person. We never know what God's plan is for a person. Paul, the Apostle, was a sinner who persecuted Christians prior to his conversion to Christ. In God's timing, not ours, people will be judged for their sin and what is hidden in their heart. We need to evaluate our own heart when we have an overwhelming desire to judge and condemn another person. In these situations, we will probably find in our heart hate instead of our love for God and our fellowman. Instead of judging people, we all need to evaluate our own heart and see if it lines up with the teachings of Jesus. Instead of judging people, we need to speak the truth of God's word and leave the judgment of people up to God.

    1 CORINTHIANS 4 BIBLE SCRIPTURE 1 Corinthians 4:5, "Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the heart; and then shall every man have praise of God."

  • Proverbs 31

    Who can find a virtuous wife?
    For her worth is far above rubies.
    The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
    So he will have no lack of gain.
    She does him good and not evil
    All the days of her life.
    She seeks wool and flax,
    And willingly works with her hands.
    She is like merchant ships,
    She brings her food from afar.
    She also rises while it is yet night,
    And provides food for her household,
    And a portion for her maidservants.
    She considers a field and buys it;
    From her profits she plants a vineyard.
    She girds herself with strength,
    And strengthens her arms.
    She perceives that her merchandise is good,
    And her lamp does not go out by night.
    She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
    And her hand holds the spindle.
    She extends her hand to the poor,
    Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
    She is not afraid of snow for her household,
    For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
    She makes tapestry for herself;
    Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
    Strength and honor are her clothing;
    She shall rejoice in time to come.
    She opens her mouth with wisdom,
    and her tongue is the law of kindness.
    She watches over the ways of her household,
    And does not eat the bread of idleness.
    Her children rise up and call her blessed;
    Her husband also, and he praises her:
    "Many daughters have done well.
    But you excel them all."
    Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
    But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
    Give her of the fruit of her hands,
    And let her own works praise her in the gates.

  • In Appreciation - Dedicated to the Melbournians

    First and Foremost, thank you Lord for planting me in Melbourne where i'm truly blessed with four indispensible years of beautiful memories; lovely friends, some akin to Brothers and Sisters.

    Glory and honor be unto my faithful loving king, in bringing me through 4 lovely years of undergraduate and post-graduate studies in the camaraderie of a foreign university - seminars, lectures and univesity life filled with a diverse mix of Caucasians, ABCs and Internationals. Lord, thank you for planting this childhood dream of being based abroad and bringing it into reality; to pass. (Gen 41:32 because the dream is established by God and God will shortly bring it to past) Thank you lord that i am able to and continue to Dream-a-Dream.

    Thank you Lord for your perfect plans even in my academic progression. I would never have imagined myself going that far. Thank you for far exceeding the benchmark i have asked of you in academia. (Ephesians 3:20). It wasn't always bed of roses but i thank you Lord for your faithfulness in sustaining me throughout. In addition to honoring my parents for this education and experience in Melbourne, i dedicate this second homecoming to you Lord.

    Beside my time with Joseph Prince Ministry at New Creation Church and City Harvest Church - which i honor and am grateful for laying the foundations- in my walk, Melbourne also happens to be the place where i have (instead of was..reason of which i shall explain later) been radically transformed. This is the place where i was baptised - at Evangelical Community Church. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to you guys: Pastor Ken and Carol, Pastor Geoff and Ava Strafford, Stephen and Fiona , Melvin and Audrey, Belle and Bob Sharon. The time and tears serving and growing together in Worship team with you guys are invaluable and beautiful memories to be cherished. Ava, i would like thank you for being a wonderful 'mum' away from home- thanks for the prayers, and for always being there to provide a listening ear and at the same time encourage and offer words of wisdom coupled with a smile. Stephen, i remember and would like to thank you for words of encouragement when my first worship-leading experience didn't turn out as well as would have been expected. Yes, how could i forget both my awesome sisters - Sisters Charlene and Charmian - Mummy Eng and Uncle Nicholas. I would like to thank you both for being such a wonderful blessing to people all around. Thanks for the words of encouragment and acts of service when it matters to me. It was a privilege serving in ministry with you guys. One being the songbird while the other, a guitar hero. I cherish all the joy and tears of serving at Casey. Also, thank you Pastors for the pastoral care that facilitated my growth in the Lord.

    Planetshakers City Church has been the most awesome church that i've been thus far. I'm always encouraged by the love that Ps Sam and Russell shower, to people all around. Thank you for church's DNA that's running through my veins- in reaching out to the community and to love and have compassion. I've grown up together with PS City church and thoroughly enjoy this experience. P&W has always been a revelation and an awesome experience with god. Thank you PlanetUni and Urbanlife for the tremendous love and support all around. Thank you for the friendships and memories that i now bring along, wherever i go. I can't wait for the time to come where i'm back with PS church and serving alongside with you guys. I'm convicted that this time will come to pass. My last sermon with church about dreams was a fantabulous experience and blessing, which i'm reminded of even in sg.

    Thank you OCF for being an integral part of my Melbourne lifestyle. Thanks for this awesome privilege to serve alongside you guys as Smoky Sinai Care-Group Leader and in e-night dance team. Smokies, you guys are an awesome bunch! The jokes, teasing, arguing and my C2's loud voice made cg leading a beautiful and unique experience. Thank you for the friendships, brother;sisterhood. I would like to highlight in appreciation, of the support that Jason Song, Arthur Chen, Faith Ho has rendered, in my short tenure as Outreach Officer of OCF Frankston. All the best to your fledging careers. OCF Frankston pioneering remains one of my desires to be fulfilled.

    Thanks to my dear friends in Monash Frankston campus, who first helped me to settle down in Melbourne when i first touched down 4 years ago. I'm grateful for the help rendered. Special thanks to first housies at Stockdale Avenue, Stella; Iris and Vera. I still remember my ramblings about being stressed up over impending accounting assignment deadlines and tests, and Vera's patience in listening and for being at the receiving end. I miss those house outings. Thank you Daniel for being an awesome housemate at Berrima St and i miss the nights where we take turns to praise and worship in our respective rooms. Appreciation to my neighbours Peggen, Rachel Ong Kili, RachFi and Huili, two of them who eventually became my care-group leaders. Strange enough, they have yet to borrow dark soy sauce even though i had heartily agreed to render any help to them. haha! Also, thank you Andrew, Eleanor, Sherlynn for being my housemates at Atlantic St.

    I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my Melb hangout buddies such as Kevin Soh, Jimmy Lau, Jason.C, Daphne, Stella, Jax, Theng Wei, Roi, PJ and the list goes on. Thank you bro Sheng Gan for the joyous times and outing we have even though we are in different. Thankfully Sydney is just beside Melb. Its amazing that our friendship has managed to breached horizons from our times as HSBC colleagues in sg, to Australia and beyond. All the very best to you and Zoe. I can't wait to visit you guys when im back in Sydney next year. Also, i would like to extend my heartfelt gratefulness and appreciation to the people who give me a fitting sending-off, in this 1 year or less sabbatical from Melb. Thanks for the warm regards and encouragment even when i left Melb for sg, you know who you are, hahaHa! and yes special you, who's reading this blog entry. It's important to me and i appreciate. It's not the end because it's the beginning of more to come. Besides, i'm also lodging my pr application and am preparing my docs. The time will come for me to make an immd. return to Melbourne for good, upon the impending new status as an Aussie pr. Keep Faith and Patience, i guess. The clock is ticking.

    Thank you
    With Love,
    Bryan

  • Seek and you will find- knowing his heart to bless

    2 Samuel 7:27-29
    Your servant has found it in his heart to pray this prayer to You. "And now, O Lord God, You are God, and your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to your servant (Psalm of David 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me - ALL the days of my life And I will dwell in the house of the Lord  Forever) Now therefore, let it please You to bless the house of Your servant that it may continue before You forever; for You, O Lord God, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever."

    2 Chronicles 15:2 The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you... (Isnt' it amazing that god has gone on, to an even greater extent in the new testament saying that he will never leave nor forsake us Hebrews 13:5; seek and acknowledge his presence). 7 Be strong (in the lord) and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded. 12 Then they entered into a covenant to seek Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul... 15 for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him with all their soul; and He was found by them, and the Lord gave them rest all around... 17 Nevertheless the heart of Asa was loyal all his days.
